Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to sole traders and landlords whose qualifying income is above the relevant threshold. Those within the scope of MTD will need compatible software to keep digital records, send quarterly updates to HMRC and submit their annual tax return by 31 January.

If you’re a landlord or sole trader earning over £30,000, you’ll soon need to manage your tax in a more digital way.
